Our family has been fostering with RRR for a little over two years. We decided that we wanted to help animals that had been unwanted and discarded to find love to last a lifetime.
The way our rescue works is when you become an approved foster, you’re added to our foster Facebook group where we can see available fosters, ask questions, get help, and network with other fosters. If you have an opening and there is a baby that is posted for rescue that grabs your attention, you just comment that you’ll take them. You’ll get a pretty quick response letting you know when and where to pick them up. They do a great job of making sure that the foster is going to be a good fit too. For example, our home isn’t a good choice for fosters who need a quiet environment and lazy days because my house is loud and always super busy with people always coming in and out. We have an amazing volunteer center where we can go and get whatever supplies are needed. The rescue gives us food, medicines, puppy pads, collars, leashes, kennels, toys, and playpens. Anything you need is provided for you and is easy to access. Someone is there most days for us to make quick trips and sometimes, we use our center for adoption events. If we have a small kennel and we agree to foster a larger puppy, we can do a kennel swap to get the size we need. What I love most about fostering through Rescue, Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana are all the furry faces that I meet. It is amazing seeing a traumatized dog thrive in my care. Fostering can be tough at times as some dogs have been through neglectful or stressful situations and may have a learning curve or behavioral issues to work on, but it is always worth it when that dog finds its perfect home.
We truly do "rescue" these dogs because many may not have had a chance ha a foster not been available to take them in. Fostering saves lives, and we work here at RRR as a team to facilitate saving lives. Crystal Bowman, Foster Volunteer Hello, I’m a rescue mom. I got my babies from Rescue, Rehome, Repeat. They are a wonderful group of volunteers that take in pups of all kinds to foster and find forever homes for. The process was easy. Both of my dogs were healthy when I adopted them. I got records on shots, spaying and neutering on both pets. I talked to one of the fosters when I got the dog which helped me know about my new pup. It’s been a great experience. When I look for new pups, I know I’ll go back to Rescue, Rehome, Repeat.
